Understanding Scenes in 2D animation applications

In the world of animation, the term scene is adopted as a container or a place to collect scenes, pictures, panels and matching frames. For example, when creating a long animation story, it is very necessary to divide it into several scenes. Although using Scenes has some disadvantages, there are some situations where you have to overcome this disadvantage, such as when we produce animations that are quite long.

Sample Storyboard Image with several Scenes in it

From the example image above, the scene can be created in one panel, but it is also possible that it consists of several panels. Like the example in the image below.

Scene Terms in Flash Applications

If Animation is the film, then the scene is the episode, with the scene we can adjust the order of the scenes in the animation. Thus it will be more organized, especially when it involves various menus and content jumps. Scenes are only there to make it easier for you to organize, no different from the others, we can cut, paste, and others.

Tip: Get in the habit of using scenes for each of the different content in your animation, for example for the opening, body, and closing.

Tip: Scenes can be duplicated so if you want multiple events in the same order, but different properties…create the base first then duplicate, and apply the changes you want.

Timeline

Panel window that is used to group and organize the content or motion of a movie or symbol, this time line panel contains:

1. scene

is the place where various events occur in the stage, it includes layers and frames

2. layers

is a place where we accommodate objects in one scene

3. frames

is where we set the animation of the parts that are grouped in a layer

4. Stage

is the white area where we work with objects in flash

Example of a scene menu in Adobe Flash

This scene can be interpreted as creating a new flash document, but with the settings for the first flash document that you create. This scene is suitable for those of you who make presentations, interactive learning, games that require the division of several menus such as opening, main menu, ending. Actually only by using 1 piece of the scene can be done but later the frame will look very long.

Therefore, if you use multiple menus, you should use additional scenes. The characteristics and how the scene works are as follows, when the frame in the first timeline scene runs out to be played, it will automatically move to the frame in the second timeline scene. If the frame in the second timeline scene runs out to be played, it will automatically play the frame in the third timeline scene and so on. To work around this you need to use an actionscript, for example stop().

The term scene was first introduced in the world of cinematography. This scene is used for shooting scenes from a story. Scenes are scenes. Scripts for story films and soap operas are arranged on a scene by scene basis. Scene is a scene that occurs in the same location, at the same time. A scene can consist of several shots or it can be one long shot which is known as a sequence shot. Sequence is a series of several scenes and shots in one unified whole. In the world of animation, the term scene is adopted as a container or a place to collect scenes, pictures, panels and matching frames.
