Telun Berasap Waterfall (http://adalrico.net)

Telun Berasap Waterfall originates from a river that originates at Gunung Tujuh Lake (the highest lake in Southeast Asia with an altitude of 1,905 above sea level) which flows into the Batang Sangir River through steep cliffs with a height of about 50 m. Jambi people call it Telun Berasap Waterfall because of the large amount of water that falls, causing a “water mist” around it.

Behind Telun Berasap Waterfall, there is a cave but it is difficult to enter. That’s because the heavy flow and the large amount of water that falls from above and the steep rocks around the waterfall make no one able to enter the cave and examine the conditions inside.

The last stairs to see Telun Berasap Waterfall (http://www.indonesia.travel)

After reaching the entrance of the area, after the vehicle parking lot, continue by walking along the cement staircase that descends. The distance through these hundreds of stairs to the waterfall is about 300 meters with neatly laid out steps but if it rains, it is quite steep and slippery, so you need to be careful. Fortunately this stairway has been made separate between the stairs to go down and up. Also along the road can be found three locations of places to rest (shelters).

Along the way you see large trees which according to local people are hundreds of years old. You can also enjoy the expanse of views of the Kerinci Semblat National Park from a distance. The 60-minute journey from Sungai Penuh plus challenging steps along the 300 meters through the stairs feels worth the stunning view of the waterfall in front of the eyes.
