Mount Parang Tower 3 and the hiking trail
Mount Parang rock climbing was first popularized in 1980 by the ITB and Skygers team. Before being used as a rock climbing location for nature lovers, the climbing path at this location was often used as a war exercise by members of the TNI.
The rock mountain formed from the friction of the earth and poking up to the surface has three climbing paths. Tower I, has a height of 983 meters above sea level (masl) with a climbing field of more than 700 meters.

Tower II, almost the same height as tower I. The shape is tapered at the top and looks like a machete weapon. And Tower III, is more gentle and looks dull from a distance.
The two sides of the slopes of Mount Parang have different characters. The eastern slope is dominated by steep and steep andesite rocks. Meanwhile, the western slope is gentler, a combination of rock and andesite. The character of Gunung Parang, is multigrade, meaning that there are many climbing routes with varying levels of difficulty. Starting from the lowest level of difficulty grade 1 to the highest grade IV. Therefore among mountain climbers this is known as the candradimuka crater, in the sense that the learning process for rock climbing, especially natural cliffs, must start from this mountain.
Mount Parang has 3 main peaks, better known as Tower 1, Tower 2, and Tower 3, and several smaller peaks there.
Various climbing routes are available here, but the more popular one is the “240” climbing route created by Skygers, a rock climbing group from Bandung, which is located in Tower 2.
