Pria Laot Waterfall is located in Pria Laot Village, Iboih Village, Sabang, Nangroe Aceh Darussalam. The distance to the location of this waterfall is about 12 kilometers if calculated from the center of Sabang City. This tourist spot is actually suitable for challenge lovers, this is because of the tracks you have to go through before arriving at this location. But don’t worry, it’s not that hard to get through.
This waterfall is located on Mount Sarong Keris which is located in the south of Weh Island. Some of the water also comes from the Anak Laut lake which flows through the Pria Laot river until it finally spills over in this waterfall. There was a scene that bothered us a little at that time. A large fallen log can be seen across the path of the waterfall. It seems that the great flood knocked the tree at the top down and finally fell down.
To get to the location of the waterfall, you have to stop at the end of the village bridge which is right in front of the drinking water pump tower in the city of Sabang. From here the journey must be continued by walking as far as 1 km.
Along the path to the waterfall, you will be invited to cross country through steep rocks while occasionally crossing the river. The location of the waterfall in the forest gives you the opportunity to witness a variety of wild fauna. If you are lucky you can see sea monitor lizards which are endemic to the island of Sabang. This animal looks sunbathing on the edge of a fish pond owned by local residents. In June to August, along the path of the waterfall will be dominated by butterflies that have just come out of cocoons.
It doesn’t feel like 30 minutes have passed. The tiredness of going through the boulders pays off with stunning natural views. Waterfall with a pond at the bottom. Well the pool in the waterfall is something rare. Not all waterfalls have a pool for swimming. This Laot man has a pool measuring about 10 square meters with a depth of between 1 and 1.5 meters. The height of the waterfall cliff is only about 15 meters so that the splash of the water is not too heavy. You can swim leisurely while enjoying the cool forest air.

Satisfied swimming in the pool, we accidentally sat on a rock at the edge of the pool. For a long time, we unconsciously felt that there was a different sensation that we felt. The part of the leg that was submerged as if something was tickled. Yes, it turns out that when we were silent, without realizing it, a lot of fish gathered on our feet and enjoyed the dead skin. Out of curiosity, we deliberately slid the body up to the chest. And sure enough the fish came back together. They enjoy the dead skin on their back, chest, arms and calves.
If in Jakarta there is a spa therapy with drupe fish which must be paid 35,000 rupiah per 30 minutes. You can get it for free here. Uniquely, the local people do not know anything about the existence of this fish and its potential. Based on the information we have obtained, the fish are known locally as moon fish. Based on our reference check, moonfish has another name mini Tarpoon. This fish can also be found in the mountains of northern Florida, United States.
