PRINCIPLES OF ISLAMIC TEACHINGS

Fundamentals of Islamic Teachings – I can’t believe it’s been a long time (maybe 20 years or more) that we have become Muslims. We should be grateful for this great favor, because many people do not get this blessing. And this favor will determine our happiness or misery in the last days.

On this occasion, we don’t want to ask ‘Since when did we convert to Islam?’ or ‘How did we convert to Islam?’ because the answer to this question is not the most basic and the most important. But the most important question that we must reflect on and answer to ourselves is: ‘To what extent have we understood and put into practice our teaching?’ This is the most important question that must be pondered and answered, because the answer to this question will determine the quality of one’s Islam and piety.

God said, “For the sake of time. Verily, mankind is truly in loss, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds and exhorts to obey the truth and exhorts to persist in patience.” (Al Asr: 1-3)

God said, “Indeed, the most honorable of you in the sight of Allah is the most pious among you.” (Al Hujurot: 13)

Islamic Teachings

As it is well known that Islamic teachings this is the most perfect teaching, because everything is in Islam, from defecation to state affairs, Islam has given instructions in it. God said, “Today I have perfected for you your religion, and have completed My favor upon you, and have pleased Islam as a religion for you.” (Al-Maidah: 3)

Salman Al-Farisi said, “It has been said to us polytheists, ‘Verily your Prophet has taught you everything until defecation!’ Salman replied, ‘true!’ (Sahih Hadith narrated by Muslim). All of this shows the perfection of Islam and the breadth of guidance it includes, which one does not need other guidance from, be it democratic theory, philosophy or otherwise; nor the words of Plato, Aristotle or anyone else.

Even though the teachings of Islam are so broad, basically the main teachings are only going back to three things, namely: monotheism, obedient and baro’ah / escape. This is the essence of the teachings of the Prophets and Messengers sent by God to mankind. So whoever does not carry out these three things in essence he is not a follower of the da’wah of the Prophets. The state of such a person is like that of a person described by a poet,

Everyone claims to have a love affair with Laila,

but laila doesn’t acknowledge their words

Surrender to Allah by Realizing Tawhid

That is humility and submission to Allah with monotheism, that is to unite Allah in each of our worship. It is not permissible to show one of our types of worship to other than Him. Because only He has the right to be worshipped. He is the one who has created us, provided us with sustenance and governed this universe, should we direct our worship to other than Him, who has no power and plays any role in us?

All who are worshiped besides Allah are incapable of giving help even to themselves. God said, “Do they associate with idols who cannot create anything? The idols themselves were created. And the idols are not able to help their worshipers, even to themselves the idols are not able to help.” (Al-A’rof: 191-192)

All that is worshiped besides Allah does not have any power in this universe. God said, “And those whom you call on besides Allah have nothing even as thin as an epidermis. If you call on them, they don’t hear your cry; and if they hear, they will not be able to grant your request, and on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your polytheism and no one will be able to explain to you as given by the All-Knowing.” (Fathir: 13-14)

Submissive and Obedient To Allah With Complete Obedience

Islamic tree the second is absolute submission and obedience to God. And this is actually the proof of the truth of his confession of faith. Submission and humility alone are not enough if they are not accompanied by submission to the commands of Allah and His Messenger and staying away from what is forbidden, solely out of obedience to Allah and only hoping for His face, hoping for a reward that is on the other side. Him and fear His punishment.

We are not allowed to say that we have faith, then there is no test that proves the truth of this claim. God said, “Do people think that they are allowed to say: “We have believed”, while they are not being tested anymore? And indeed we have tested those who were before them, so surely Allah knows those who are true and verily He knows those who lie.” (Al-Ankabut: 2-3)

People who believe should have no other choice when Allah and His Messenger have made a decision. God said, “And it is not proper for believing men and not believing women, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a statute, there will be choices for them regarding their affairs. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed into a clear error.” (Al Ahzab: 36)

People who believe do not dispute the decrees of Allah and His Messenger, but they obey them physically and mentally. God said, “Indeed, the answer of the believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger, that the Messenger of them punish them is speech. ‘We hear, and we obey’. And they are the lucky ones.” (An Nur: 51)

Enmity and Hating Shirk and its Perpetrators

A Muslim who submits and obeys Allah’s commands and prohibitions, then the consequence of the truth of his faith is that he must also break away and hate the acts of shirk and its perpetrators. Because he has not been said to truly believe before he loves what Allah loves and hates what Allah hates. In fact, shirk is something that Allah hates the most. Because shirk is the greatest sin, the most tyrannical and the most depraved attitude towards Allah, even though Allah is the One who has created, nurtured and poured out His love for all of us.

Allah has set an example for us, namely in ourselves Nabiyullah Ibrahim ‘alaihis salam to break free and be hostile to the perpetrators of shirk and shirk. God said, “Indeed, you have had a good role model for you in Ibrahim and those who were with him; when they said to their people: ‘Indeed we dissociate ourselves from you from what you worship besides Allah, we disobeyed you and there has been manifest between us and you enmity and hatred for ever and ever until you believe in Allah alone.'” (Al-Mumtahanah: 4)

So the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim ‘alaihis salam do not invite the unity of religions as alleged by Liberal Islamic figures, but his da’wah is to fight shirk and its worshipers. This is the straight millah of Ibrahim! Likewise, the Prophet Muhammad shollallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam always waged war against all forms of shirk and was hostile to his worshipers. here Fundamentals of Islamic teachings that we must know and understand together in order to be able to answer the questions above with a sure and definite answer. And it is on these three points that aqidah and shari’ah are built. So we ask Allah, may Allah give us taufiq to be able to understand this religion, and be confirmed on this deen.
